The Data and Analytics Strategist is responsible for leading JPL’s data and analytics efforts within the company’s digital marketing group. This position’s number-one priority is to provide JPL clients with outstanding data and analytics solutions that inform and measure their digital marketing efforts. The successful candidate is both an innovator and hands-on activator, an experienced digital marketer who continuously evolves, innovates and activates JPL’s data and analytics product offering, while strategically exploring and introducing new tools and techniques that advance JPL’s data and analytics capabilities. As a Data and Analytics Strategist, you will be JPL’s subject-matter expert in data visualization, data integration and digital marketing analytics, leading these efforts through forward-thinking innovation and by strategizing and implementing results-oriented digital solutions for clients. This position reports to the Director, Digital Marketing/Vice President, New Ventures.


  • Be the subject-matter expert for JPL’s data and analytics offering, strategizing with clients and playing a hands-on role in the implementation and management of their data and analytics programs; introducing new tools and techniques; and playing an active role in JPL’s business development efforts.
  • Develop analytics strategies and solutions for JPL clients.
  • Implement client strategies, leveraging strong hands-on skills and the use of technologies and tools, such as Tableau, to tell a marketing-focused, data-driven story.
  • Evaluate, innovate and evolve JPL’s analytics business by leading the development and expansion of data and analytics services.
  • Lead data and analytics innovation through continuous learning, forging new vendor relationships, engaging industry leaders and introducing new product offerings.
  • Grow JPL’s data and analytics business by winning new clients and retaining and expanding relationships with existing clients.
  • Manage partnerships with technology vendors to optimize the performance and ROI of JPL’s data and analytics capabilities.
  • Identify new growth opportunities to expand and diversify JPL’s data and analytics offering.
  • Work with the Director, Digital Marketing/Vice President, New Ventures to set and achieve department goals related to the evolution of JPL’s data and analytics products.


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, statistics, economics or a related field of study, with a demonstrated concentration and strength in analytics.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in data and analytics, with a focus on digital marketing measurement.
  • Agency experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Hands-on experience in data-driven decision making, developing analytics strategies and implementing web analytics for large-scale or enterprise websites. Google Analytics experience preferred, Adobe Analytics a plus.
  • The ability to tell a Marketing-centric, data-driven story to multiple stakeholders using data visualization tools. Tableau experience preferred.
  • Experience with analyzing the performance of integrated programs and campaigns, particularly content, SEO, paid media, social and email programs.
  • Tag management implementation skills, preferably experience with GTM, DTM or Tealium.
  • SQL Database and R knowledge preferred.
  • A proven self-starter and motivated self-learner who works and leads with an entrepreneurial spirit and conveys a passion for data, analytics and digital marketing.
  • Experience winning business and serving clients.
  • A strong collaborator; able to work with experts in SEO, paid digital media, creative, interactive, strategy and account management teams to achieve clients’ goals.
  • Knowledge of interactive development platform/tools, including: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, mobile platforms, etc.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills; able to maintain a detailed project-plan with a high level of accuracy. 
  • Ability to own project goals and work independently – while communicating collaboratively – to deliver quality work, on time and on budget.
