Overview

QA analyst/engineer with experience in ensuring the excellent quality of websites and apps of various complexities. This individual will be a self-starter able to work independently or with a team to create test plans, write scripts, perform testing, and document the results. In this role, the candidate will work closely with the development team to become familiar with all software systems being tested. The candidate must be passionate about testing and contributing to software quality. An ability to scale QA approaches based on available timelines and budgets is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional testing for apps and websites of various sizes; from complex to simple brochure sites
  • Create written test cases, test plans and checklists from business functional requirements and user stories
  • Write up bug issues in a clear and concise format
  • Verify that issues have been successfully resolved after being reported as fixed by development engineers
  • Traffic issues between developers, project management and deployment until resolved
  • Work with developers to implement unit tests and other software QA best practices
  • Work multiple projects concurrently
  • Complete work within tight deadlines
  • Experience with automated testing for large scale websites and apps is a plus:
    • Implement automated tests that verify functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability of applications

Qualifications

  • MUST have 2+ years of functional testing experience
  • MUST have strong knowledge and experience with web technologies: HTML, CSS, JS
  • Familiarity with WordPress or similar content management system
  • Cross-browser testing: Manual testing on various desktop, mobile and tablet configurations including iOS and Android
  • Knowledge of various software testing methods (Regression, Functional, System, User-Interface, Black/White box testing, Acceptance, Performance, User Acceptance testing, and Web interface verification)
  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with version control systems, Git or Subversion
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience working in a fast-paced development environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to diagnose issues quickly
