An art director for all things digital – that’s who we’re looking for!

 

JPL is on the hunt for our newest UI Designer. This digital designer is both rational and innovative, a maker and storyteller who brings ideas to life across various devices, products, and projects. On a daily basis, you’ll use your strategic, conceptual, and visual design skills in collaboration with our team to create digital experiences that exceed our customers’ expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee cutting-edge layouts, prototypes, and design systems for mobile, desktop, and experiential digital platforms
  • Demonstrate a master-level understanding of digital design, including typography, layout, and user experiences
  • Design and manage the quality of creative work throughout all phases of a project
  • Speak articulately and collaborate with digital marketing team members, content writers, and developers
  • Collaborate with UX Designers and clients to develop a deep understanding of customers’ behaviors and needs, and translate UX research findings and insights into emotionally, engaging experiences
  • Very familiar with style tiles, UI Libraries, rapid prototyping, brand visual identity systems, HTML style guides, visual design mockups, and storyboards.
  • Work with Creative Directors and Art Directors to ensure design work exceeds client expectations
  • Present to clients in a compelling, easy-to-understand manner

Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ experience designing for the web and mobile 
  • 2+ years’ experience in Systematic Design
  • Experience working in an agency setting is preferred
  • Proficiency in Mac OSX, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office

  • Must have a portfolio of successfully launched work that demonstrate strategic, conceptual and creative thinking
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, various frameworks and content management systems
  • Advanced experience with interactive channels, design principles, and underlying interactive technologies
  • Experience developing visual guides and UI documentation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be organized, work gracefully under pressure and switch between projects seamlessly in a fast-paced environment
